The Senate Gymnasium

wresting room with matts and weights

This 32,000 square-foot gym with basketball courts, weight training facility and wrestling room is home to our Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling programs. It is also used by other sports during inclement weather and during the winter to prepare for their upcoming seasons.

The Senate Gym, with a stage area, also is used to host health-oriented and living programs, academic and other non-athletic events open to students, faculty, staff, and the community. We also have hosted outside athletic events for area high schools and colleges including the Mid-Hudson Athletic League Volleyball Finals and Region XV championships, the Section 9 Division 2 Wrestling Championships, as well as the MHAL Boys and Girls Basketball Championships.175

Students that are registered for at least 1 credit at SUNY Ulster and show proof of college ID are permitted to use the gym and weight room between hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The facility is not available outside of these hours, and anyone wishing to utilize the facilities outside of these hours must complete a "Facility Request Form." Sports teams with scheduled indoor practices have priority over students wishing to use the gym facilities. Spectators that attend home contests are not permitted to use the playing area during or after the contest.

Louis Berger Athletic Complex

Adjacent to the Senate Gymnasium is the Louis Berger Athletic Complex. The main feature of the complex is the Soccer Field, used by the Men's Soccer program for all home games. Also apart of the Louis Berger Athletic Complex are practice fields for Baseball and six modern state of the art Tennis Courts.

Tony Williams Field

176Away from our Stone Ridge campus we use a few different facilities for our athletes.

In the Spring our athletes use Tony Williams Field in Highland for the home game location for our Baseball program.

Additionally our Men's Golf team plays at the Wiltwyck Country Club in Kingston.
