Becca Leach led the charge offensively (18 kills) and
Mary Sommer was all over the court defensively (36 digs) to help the Senators snap a 2 game losing streak and upend SUNY Dutchess on their home court.
Coming off tough losses to Orange (5 sets) and Rockland (4 sets) in the past week Ulster really needed a win to get back on track. A win wasn't the only goal though. "We needed the win yes, but more importantly we needed to prove to ourselves that we are a good volleyball team, and we did that" according to coach
Glenn Warnock. Warnock continued "You win some tight ones and you lose some, but it's how you come out and fight the next time that shows your true self, and these women fought remarkably hard tonight, I'm beyond proud of them". Â
With the win Ulster ups it's record to 8-3 overall and 6-3 in the Mid Hudson Conference. They face off on Mon 10/14/19 at Hudson Valley Community College and then finish off their regular season with a home match against SUNY Westchester. Â
