Box Score The SUNY Ulster women's Volleyball Team came out with a new lineup and a new attitude to upend SUNY Orange. The Senators tallied 70 digs and countless long rallies in the victory.
Lauren Mahany and
Mary Sommers both assumed new roles and the changes appear to have added some stability to the lineup.
Mahany contributed 8 kills, 16 assists and 11 digs while Sommers 11 digs, 7 assists and steady passing during the match.
Orange had several strong hitters whom had trouble putting the ball away against the scrappy Ulster defense.
Victoria Somer (15 digs), Libby Scott (13 digs), and
Lexi Klinger (15 digs) all contributed to the outstanding defensive effort.
On offense Somer also added 8 kills and Becca Leach chipped in with 6.
Ulster is now 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Mid Hudson Conference.
Orange drops to 2-2 overall and 2-2 MHC.
The Senators host SUNY Dutchess this Thursday 9/19 at 7pm
