SUNY Ulster Men's Soccer defeated the visiting Vikings of SUNY Westchester by a score of 3-2 in overtime last night in the finals of the Mid Hudson Conference.

Jesus Martinez ended the match in walk off style by drilling his second goal of the game with four minutes remaining in the first overtime.  Martinez eluded one defender along the sideline and carried to the ball to the center of the field before he launched the game winner from 30 yards out to send the Senators to their first conference title since 2012.  In regulation time, Martinez tied the game at 2-2, after Westchester scored the go ahead goal minutes earlier.  Trailing 2-1, Martinez took the kickoff and drilled his first goal of the game from 50 yards out to tie the score.  Down 1-0 to start the second half, the Senators capitalized four minutes in when Erick Alvarez tied up the match at 1-1.  

The Senators had defeated the Vikings on October 9th to host the championship match.  Both games were exciting as advertised.  SUNY Ulster Men's Soccer now refocuses their efforts towards the Northeast Sub-District tournament held at Mercer County Community College on 10/30/21 and 10/31/21.  The Senators take on the host at noon on the 30th.
