SUNY Ulster Baseball earned a split in their opening series of the 2021 season at SUNY Suffolk on Saturday.  In game one, the Senators suffered a 5-4 loss to the host Sharks.  The Senators took a 4-2 lead into the 5th inning before the Sharks added two in the 5th, and one in the 6th inning to hold on for the win.  
Jared Yalon hit his first home run on the season for the Senators.  
Kelvin Gutierrez added two hit, including a double and run batted in.  
Robert Bradley went 5 innings in his first start of the season, allowing three earned runs on eight hits.  In relief, Fred Callo suffered the loss in his two innings of work, allowing one unearned run on 1 hit.
In game two, the Senators jumped out to another early lead.  
Trevor Adamo drove in two runs to help pace the Senators to a 5-3 win, earning them a series split with the Sharks.  In the win, 
Randy Delanoy earned his first win as a College Head Coach.

Christian Diorio each added two hits in the winning effort.  
Ronnie Gibbs secured his first win of the season, going 5 2/3 innings, and allowing three earned runs on five hits.  Fred Callo worked a scoreless 7th inning to secure the save for the Senators.
The team returns to action on Saturday, April 3rd, when they host SUNY Nassau in a doubleheader at Tony Williams Park in Highland, NY.  First pitch is set for 12:00PM.
