Due to recent extreme weather and poor field conditions, SUNY Ulster was forced to play their home game against Albany Pharmacy at Rondout Valley High School. The Senators hosted Albany Pharmacy for the first time since 2018. Ulster would control most of the possession early on, but the first half saw both teams create opportunities. The Senators took the lead in the 20th minute when Luis Hernandez's (Kingston) through ball found Brandon Gonzalez (Ellenville) who beat the keeper from deep for his second goal of the season. The lead was shorted-lived as Albany would respond just 3 minutes later to to tie the game 1-1. Despite more opportunities for both teams the half ended 1-1.
After a few halftime adjustments, Ulster would go on to dominate possession in the second half. Modou Badjie (Kingston) lead the way, scoring in the 53rd minute and again in the 62nd minute on assists from Jesus Martinez (NFA) and Luis Hernandez (Kingston). Ulster would strike again in the 75th minute. After earning a free kick from 20 yards out, Jesus Martinez (NFA) stepped up and rocketed a perfect free kick into the upper corner giving SUNY Ulster a 4-1 lead. Just seven minutes later, Ulster would find the back of the net again as Modou Badjie (Kingston) assisted Fernando Silva (Ellenville) for his first goal of the season with a beautiful shot in the upper corner to beat the keeper.
Ulster held the edge in shots 20-10, shots on goal 8-5, and corners 7-5. Ulster keeper Justin Dunikowski (Wallkill) finished with 5 saves.
With the 5-1 victory, Ulster improves their overall record to 2-2 with conference play beginning this week.
