STONE RIDGE, NY – Looking to go undefeated in conference play for the second year in a row, Men's Soccer hosted Rockland Community College on Thursday. With the win, The Senators would get the chance to host the Mid-Hudson Conference Championships on October 19
th.
Senators came out of the gate storming, scoring a total of 5 goals in the first period, all started by a
Javier Rodriguez goal in the 8:00 min, assisted by
Modou Badjie.
Modou Badjie would then score at the 24:00 min on an assist by
Edwin Cuesta.
Frank Rodriguez would push the lead to 3-0 after a goal in the 32:00 min, assisted by
Jafet Mendez.
Jafet Mendez and
Javier Rodriguez would then score at the 34:00 min and 44:00 min respectively, giving the Senators a 5-0 advantage before the half
"A good team performance to end the regular season," said head coach
Jamal Lis-Simmons. "We controlled the game from the beginning. I was glad that everyone got an opportunity to play."
Senators dominated in the shot column, with a 27-3 advantage in total shots. Senators also held the advantage for shots on goal 9-0, and corners 8-0.
Cody Baker and
Eduardo Romero split time on goal for the Senators.
With the win, the Senators finish regular season conference play undefeated (4-0) for the second straight season, (8-2-1) overall. The Senators are the defending conference champions and will again host the Mid-Hudson Conference Championship on Wednesday, October 19th 7pm at Rondout Valley High School. The opponent is TBD.
