STONE RIDGE, NY – SUNY Ulster men's soccer returned to action on Saturday, following a double-overtime loss to Herkimer County Community College earlier in the week. Senators took on Dutchess Community College in their first conference matchup of the season.
The Senators started off hot, scoring four goals within the 15:00 mark.
Modou Badjie scored two goals in the first half at the 7:00 and 11:00 marks.
Anthony Murcia,
Javier Rodriguez, and
Jafet Mendez also scored in the opening half.
Simon Kiluba and
Jeremiah Tart each scored during the second half.
Mark Treasure led the Senators with two assists.
The Senators held the upper hand in total shots with a 36 to 6 advantage. Senators also led in shots on goal 17 to 1, as well as corners 6 to 2.
Cody Baker and
Eduardo Romero split time on the goal post.
"Everyone contributed for a good overall team performance, we're glad to start conference play with a win," said head coach
Jamal Lis-Simmons. "Now we prepare for another tough road opponent when we travel to Nassau CC on Tuesday."
The matchup against Nassau Community College will take place Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Kickoff time is 4 p.m.
