After a slow start, a big second half propels Ulster to their first conference win.
Ulster would take control of the match early, but struggled to take advantage of their chances, the score was 0-0 halftime. The Senators would raise their level in the second half and go on to win 5-1.
EJ Lazo (Washingtonville) would open the scoring in the 50th min on a perfectly placed cross from
Owen Canjura (North Rockland). Canjura then got the score sheet just five minutes later on an assist from
Dantae McDonald (Jamaica). Ulster continued to apply pressure and
Ashaasea Sankofa (Salesian) would score in the 69th and 72nd minute, both assisted by
Colin MacDonald (Red Hook). Dutches would get a goal back in the 79th. Ulster was then awarded a pk in the 87th when
EJ Lazo (Washingtonville) was taken down in the box.
Jason Ramirez-Perez (Kingston) calmly put the pk in the right corner to give Ulster a 5-1 victory and their first conference win on the season.
Leon Maendel (Mt Academy) started in goal for Senators for the first time and
Cody Baker (Kingston) played in goal in the second half, both collecting one save each.
Next up...The Senators will host Bronx CC this Saturday at 1pm on Ulster's campus.
