Senators pick up third straight win, beat Hudson Valley 2-1.

Ulster controlled possession from the start.  The Senators opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Nick Thomaz (NFA) swung a corner kick to the back post that was headed home by Max Maouris (Kingston) for a 1-0 lead.  Ulster created more opportunities, but were unable to find a second, and took 1-0 lead into the half.  Hudson Valley came out strong in the second half and would capitalize on an Ulster mistake, tying the game 1-1 in the 48th minute.  Ulster continued to apply pressure and in the 76th minute another corner kick swung in by Nick Thomaz (NFA) would be the difference, this time headed home by Andrew Foster (Kingston) to go back up 2-1.  Ulster would see out the final 13 minutes and earn a hard fought 2-1 road win.  Santiago Saavedra (Pine Bush) started in goal and made 1 save on the day.  The win improves Ulster to 9-2-1 overall and 3-0-1 in conference.  Ulster remained in this week's top ten national poll, moving up one spot to #9.
Next up...Regular season home finale.  Ulster hosts Bronx CC this Thursday, October 9th, 4pm on the Ulster campus.  The Senators then end regular season play this Saturday on the road at Kingsborough CC, 1pm kickoff.
