Box Score The SUNY Ulster Women's Volleyball team kept their win streak alive taking their 7th match in a row by sweeping SUNY Sullivan 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-20). It brings the Senators record to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the Mid Hudson Conference. They hope to continue their winning ways next Tuesday versus SUNY Orange in another important Conference matchup.
Becca Leach once again led the offense, putting down 10 kills on only 22 attacks. Most of those kills came off a nice setting night from
Lauren Mahany who registered 18 assists to go along with 5 aces, 5 digs and 4 kills.
Ulster got it's now usual great passing and scrambling defense from Lexi Kilinger, Libby Scott,
Victoria Somer,
Mary Sommers and Mahany.
Besides Leach the rest of the attack was pretty balanced with kills split between the lineup, Sommers (6), Somer (5), Scott (4). Ulster also showed it's firepower from the service line with 19 aces including 7 from Sommers.
Now past the halfway point in their schedule the Senators appear to have qualified for the district championships in Pennsylvania in Early November. They are also hoping for a top 2 seed in the Mid Hudson Conference Tournament later in October.
