The SUNY Ulster Baseball program is ready to return to the field on Saturday, April 3rd, when they travel to SUNY Suffolk for their first doubleheader of the 2021 season. Saturday marks the first time the program has been in game action since March 11, 2020, when they suffered a 6-2 loss to Southern Maryland. The Senators will embark on an abbreviated 14 game regular season schedule, in hopes on defending their 2019 Region XV Division II Baseball Championship.
Reigning Region Coach of the Year, Steven Morse, departed in the offseason. Former Assistant Coach,
Randy Delanoy takes over as Head Coach, and looks to lead the Senators back into postseason play. Returning to the 2021 roster is outfielders,
Kelvin Gutierrez and
Justin Ventura, as well as designated hitter,
Mike Holohan. On the mound, the Senators return
Robert Bradley and
Ronnie Gibbs to the starting rotation. Many key new additions to the roster will look to bolster the squad and add to an already potent lineup.
The Senators return home on April 10th, when they host SUNY Nassau for a 12pm doubleheader at Tony Williams Park in Highland, NY. Check the schedule for more details on the upcoming season.
