SUNY Ulster Baseball swept their series with Monroe-Bronx on Saturday at Tony Williams Park. The Senators took game one by a score of 5-2, and capped off the sweep with a 12-8 win in the nightcap. Â
In game one, the Senators tacked on four runs late to secure the opener.Â
Justin Ventura led the way offensively with three hits and two runs batted in.Â
Mike Holohan and
Hunter Traenkle each added two hit apiece in the victory.Â
Max Hover earned his first win on the mound going 5 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out six.Â
Freddie Callo pitched 2 scoreless innings for the save. He allowed one hit and struck out four to secure the win in game one.
In the nightcap, Ventura once again paced the Senators offense with three more hits, and three runs batted in. Jarod Yalon went deep and drove in three to lead the Senators offense.Â
Kelvin Gutierrez added two hits and drove in two more to help the Senators complete the series sweep.Â
Christian Diorio earned with win in relief of starter,
Nichael Navedo. Diorio went 3.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on three hits.
The Senators moved to 4-2 on the season.
