SUNY Ulster Baseball split with SUNY Nassau on the road Saturday, earning a 11-1 victory in game one, before dropping the second game, 4-3. Jarod Yalon led the offense in game one with three hits, including two doubles and driving in four runs. Logan Deveries added two hits and four runs batted in to help propel the Senators.Â
Alex Zavala and
Nick Classie chipped in two hits apiece in the victory. Â
Robert Bradley started, and went the distance on the mound. Bradley allowed one earned run on five hits and nine strikeouts.
In game two, the Senators took a 3-2 lead into the bottom half of the seventh before Nassau scored two in a walk off win.Â
Mike Holohan led the Senators at the plate in the nightcap with two hit, and two runs batted in. Sophomore starter
Ronnie Gibbs was solid on the mound for the Senators, allowing two earned runs on seven hits, while striking out nine in 5 innings of work.Â
Freddie Callo took the loss in game two. He pitched 1.1 innings of relief, allowing two earned runs on two hits.
The Senators return to action on May 1st, when they open a four game Region XV Conference series with SUNY Orange at Tony Williams Park in Highland, NY.
