Baseball Takes Conference Series vs SUNY Orange

SUNY Ulster Baseball took three out of four in their Mid Hudson Conference series with SUNY Orange over the weekend.

In game one, Trevor Adamo blasted a solo home run, while Nick Classie and Kelvin Gutierrez each added two hits apiece to lead the Senators offense to a 7-2 victory.  Freshman, Max Hover, was dominate on the mound, going 7 innings, allowing one run and striking out nine for the win.

Game two didn't go the Senators way as they fell 4-1 in the nightcap on Saturday.  Starter Robert Bradley battled for 6 innings, keeping the Senators in the game, allowing four earned runs on three hits and striking out eight in the loss.  The Colts held SUNY Ulster to five hits to even the series heading into Sunday's series finale.

In game three, the Senators jumped out early to take a commanding 9-0 before holding on to a 11-6 victory.  The Senators offense pounded out 14 hits, including five Senators with two hits each in the opener.  Alex Avala, Jared Yalon, and Ian Sickler each had two hits and drove in a pair to lead the Senators to the win.

In the game four series finale, the story was freshman pitcher, Freddie Callo.  Callo tossed in first collegiate no-hitter and struck out ten Colts in the victory.  Jared Yalon led the way at the plate with three hits, including a double and a run batted in.  Ty Orologio added two hits and three runs batted in to pace the Senators attack.

The wins secured home field advantage for the Senators in this weekends Region XV Division II Baseball Championship.  All Game will be played at Tony Williams Park in Highland, NY.
