SUNY Ulster Baseball earned its second Region XV Baseball Championship in the last three years on Saturday, by defeating SUNY Orange in game two of the Regional. The title makes it back to back for the Senators, who last won in 2019, with the spring sports season being shut down in 2020 for Covid-19.
In game one,
Trevor Adamo led the Senators with four hits, including a game tying single in the 11th inning. One batter later,Â
Kelvin Gutierrez knocked in the winning run, with a single to propel the Senators to a game one victory.Â
Max Hover earned the victory in relief by going 3.2 innings, and allowing two earned run. Hover relieved starter
Freddie Callo, who went 7.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits and striking out seven.
In game two, both starting pitchers battled through rainy weather.Â
Robert Bradley went the distance on the mound for the Senators, allowing one earned run on six hits and striking out nine for the win.Â

Alex Zavala, was the difference in the 4-3 series clinching victory.
