STONE RIDGE, NY – Following their 2-1 victory against non-conference opponent Bryant & Stratton College on Tuesday, Men's Soccer returned to conference play on Saturday, taking on Westchester Community College.
Senators came out firing with 6 of their 15 total shots coming before the 25:00 min. Senators would finally capitalize during the 26:00 min on a goal from
Frank Rodriguez assisted by
Anthony Murcia.
Modou Badjie would increase the lead to 2-0 at the 36:00 min on a penalty goal kick.
Anthony Murcia would score the final goal of the half for the Senators during the 39:00 min, assisted by
Andrew Morocho. Badjie would score the only goal of the second half for the Senators in the 88:00 min.
The shot matchup was pretty even between the two teams. Senators finished with 15 total shots to Westchester's 14. Westchester finished with 9 shots on goal to the Senators 8. Senators finished with 8 corner shots to Westchester's 3.
Cody Baker had a total of 8 saves for the contest.

Cody Baker were solid all game, allowing most shots from 20+ yards away."
"Our front 3 players, Javi Rodriguez,
Anthony Murcia, and
Modou Badjie were dangerous all match," continued Lis-Simmons. "They did a great job combining to create scoring opportunities throughout the game."
With the victory, Ulster remains in first place in the conference at 3-0. This is the first victory at Westchester for the Senators since
Jamal Lis-Simmons took over the program back in 2016.
The Senators will host Rockland Community College at Ulster Campus Thursday, October 6
th, in what will be their last regular season conference game. With the win, Ulster will earn the right to host the Mid-Hudson Conference Championship game on Wednesday, October 19
th.
